BIO
I have nearly 20 years of experience working with companies receiving government grants and contracts. I am a Certified Public Accountant, with a personality, sense of humor and a passion for building relationships. I enjoy taking time to understand my clients and their needs, which often results in long lasting partnerships. I typically work with smart, innovative, forward thinking engineers, scientists, PhD’s, medical doctors, and the like, who are researching and developing cutting edge products, technologies, services and techniques. The majority of my clients are small businesses, SBIR/STTR, government funded, research and development, and mission based organizations who seek my services and advice on accounting and compliance matters, relative to the administration of federal grants and contracts.
I help my clients by sharing my knowledge, providing them with tools and allowing them to tap into the resources I have gained over my professional career. Which includes several years of financial management services such as; outsourced CFO/Controller services, auditing, consulting, indirect cost rate development and analysis, preparation of incurred cost submissions, audit support and providing technical assistance and training to federally funded companies ranging in size from a 60 billion dollar radioactive and hazardous waste management facility to small businesses with annual revenues of $100,000. I have worked with a broad range of companies in markets such as: biotechnology and life sciences, high tech and information technology, alternative energy, health care and education, and defense and aerospace. I have extensive experience working with companies subject to Uniform Guidance.
I don't claim to have all the answers, but I know how to work hard to find a solution.
While not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife and three children. My love for the outdoors encouraged me to hike, in 2007, the entire length of the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine.
